A New Experience

After a bit of cajoling this morning I was able to get Mr. James to fall asleep around 11:30 and thought that this would give me the perfect window to go get my hair cut....something I have been wanting to do since before he was born.

For me, getting a new haircut is like getting a new lease on life. If I am having a bad day or bad week, a new haircut (or color if I want to get really crazy) can turn it all around instantly....I love freshly cut hair!

So, we arrived at the salon after a silent car ride and just as I sat down in the chair my little squirrel boy woke up and started to put up a fuss. I thought I might be able to rock his car seat with my foot just enough to lull him back into a sweet little sleep but I was sorely mistaken. Before the scissors could even come out I had a squealing boy on my hands and a deep desire to pack him up and go home. So, what to do??????

Well, I was already covered by a black tarp and the salon was full of ladies and I REALLY wanted this haircut, so I picked up my little man and nursed him under the black cape. Although I felt a bit bashful by this oh-so-public feeding, no one else seemed to bat an eye and before I knew it I had once again lulled my sweet little boy into a deep sleep where he stayed for the entire cut.

So there you go, I was able to keep myself modest under one of those fabulously designed black capes and keep my little boy from going ballistic.....oh and I got a descent haircut that has given me a new lease on life. (See haircut below)
